Occupational Therapist (Full time)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Occupational Therapist, focused on recovery based principles, to work in the  Mental Health area of a large hospital based in (Kenepuru) Wellington. This permanent position is 40 hours per week.

We want a Therapist who will:

1. Deliver an effective and efficient occupational therapy service that facilitates clinical excellence and desired health outcomes for the consumers

2. Provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention for occupational performance issues identified through functional assessments.

3. Work with families and carers as well as other agencies.

4. Support service users/tangata whaiora to identify their strengths, goals and aspirations, and advocate within the multi disciplinary team for inclusion of these crucial factors in care management that supports recovery and a confident return to the community.

We are a dynamic and enthusiastic team with a passion for providing specialist services and treatment to acutely unwell service users/tangata whaiora.

We provide a sound supervision and in-service education programme and support continuing professional development through our Clinical Career Pathway.

Applicants will have a degree in Occupational Therapy or relevant tertiary occupational therapy qualification & hold New Zealand Occupational Therapist registration and a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
